Indian Idol

Indian Idol is one of the most successful entertainment and reality TV show ever launched in India, giving the publica unique opportunity to cast their vote and help launch the career of the next Indian idol.
The show involves a nationwide search for the country’s best singers, with a judging panel of experts helping to whittle down the hopefuls before getting to the audience voting stages.
It was aired in SONY and the production companies involved in Indian Idol were Fremantlemedia India, Miditech Pvt. Ltd. (2005-2009), Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (2010)

Season 9

Vipul Mehta

A musical powerhouse, which has been resonating with people around the country for the past 12 years; has come back with a bang in its 9th season.  This season is extra special since the judges of our first season, leading film director and choreographer Farah Khan, one of the best music directors in the industry Anu malik and Godlike for some, bollywood’s rockstar Sonu Nigam have come back together yet again after a leap of seven years. The singers on the show are already making waves with the who’s who of the industry endorsing them. Legendary cricketers Sachin Tendulkar & Virender Sehwag have been following this season. They often speak about the platform & the impeccable singing it offers on social media sites. Virender Sehwag came on the show for a live experience too. The Music is the main language which ties our contestants with each other and as they say, Indian Idol is not just a platform for upcoming singers but a bond which connects them to us the viewers, to India and to the whole world.  Hyderabad based L.V. Revanth became the winner of show on 2nd April in a musical finale filled with various melodious as well as humorous motifs. 

Season 6

Vipul Mehta

The Sixth season of Indian Idol was aired on Sony TV from June 1st, 2012 to September 1st, 2012. The Sixth season was judged by Anu Malik, along with other judges Salim Merchant and Sunidhi Chauhan and new judge Asha Bhosle

The fourth season was hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala and Mini Mathur.
The winner of Indian Idol 6 was Vipul Mehta. Vipul Mehta now has a one year contract with Sony.

Season 5

Sreeramchandra Mynampati

The Fifth season of Indian Idol was aired on Sony TV from April 26th, 2010 to August 15th, 2010. The fifth season was judged by Anu Malik, along with two new judges Salim Merchant and Sunidhi Chauhan.

The fourth season was hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala and Abhijeet Sawant.
The winner of Indian Idol 5 was Sreeramchandra Mynampati from Hyderabad. Sreeram Chandra has already made his debut in Telugu movie industry. Shreerama Chandra now has a one year contract with Sony and also an opportunity to sing in a Yash Raj Film.

Season 4

Sourabhee Debbarm

The Fourth season of Indian Idol was aired on Sony TV from September 19, 2008 to March 1, 2009. The fourth season saw Anu Malik and Javed Akhtar on the hot seats as they took judges' chair once again for the show. New to this season were singer Kailash Kher and Indian actress Sonali Bendre.

The fourth season was hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala and Meiyang Chаng. Sourabhee Debbarma won the title of the Indian Idol and became the first female contestant to do so. She released an album Meherbaan as per a contract with Sony.

Season 3

Prashant Tamang

Third season was aired on Sony TV from May 4, 2007 to September 23, 2007. The judges for this season were Anu Malik, Javed Akhtar, Alisha Chinai, Udit Narayan.

The third season was hosted by Hussain Kuwajerwala and Mini Mathur.
The winner of the Third season was Prashant Tamang, who hails from Darjeeling in West Bengal.

Season 2

Sandeep Acharya

The second season was aired on Sony TV from November 21, 2005 to April 22, 2006. The judges for the first season were Anu Malik, Sonu Nigam and Farah Khan.

The first season was hosted by Aman Verma and Mini Mathur. The winner of the second season of Indian Idol was Sandeep Acharya.

Season 1

Abhijit Sawant

The first season was aired from October, 2004 to March 5, 2005 on Sony TV. The judges for the first season were Anu Malik, Sonu Nigam and Farah Khan.

The first season was hosted by Aman Verma and Mini Mathur.
The winner of the first season of Indian Idol was Abhijit Sawant, from Mumbai. The winner, Abhijeet Sawant, went on to release his first album "Aap Ka Abhijeet". He participated in Asian Idol representing India and was placed third in the competition. He also released his second album Junoon which was a success and he also did play back for the movie, Ashiq Banaya Apne.

Idols was first shown as Pop Idol on British television in October 2001. Since then, the format has aired 137 series across 43 territories, with a proven track record of success in every country where it has been aired.
