India's foremost singing talent show for those who dare to dream, have the ability to chase them and bring them to life! From being a path breaking show on Indian television in Season 1 to creating celebrated youth icons with its latest version of Indian Idol Junior, Idol has come to mean the best in Indian television. It has become a household name as the best launchpad there is for talented singers' leap into the world of Indian playback singing.

The show that put kids cenrestage and made them popular with common people as well as with celebs like Lata ji, Asha ji Shan, Salman and none other than Mr Amitabh Bachhan himself! Kids across the country participated in auditions to show their talent and from thousands 10 were selected from different walks of life, everyone was unique in character and gifted with great talent. The show amassed a huge fan-following with people voting and tweeting fervently to see their favorite junior go through to the next round. Anjana Padmanabhan from Bangalore walked away the winner of Indian Idol Junior.

Indian Idol provides a platform for young Indians who dare to dream, have the ability to chase their dreams and bring them to life. From setting high benchmarks for singing reality shows on Indian television in Season 1 to creating youth icons through its last 8 avataars, Indian Idol has provided a platform for talented singers to launch into successful careers over the past 10 years. Singers Like Monali Thakur , Nakash Aziz, Neha Kakkad, Bhoomi Trivedi, Sriram, Swaroop Khan and many more have become successful playback singers. From season 7, the show lent its stage to kids of today to give them the chance to discover their talent and show it to the world. Thus “INDIAN IDOL JUNIOR” was born (age 5 to 15).

Indian Idol Junior -2, the second season with kidsbecame the talk of the town soon after its launch, with JUNIORS contestants like Moti Khan, Ranita Banergee being offered playback singing opportunities while the show was stil on air. Nahid Afreen, one of the top 3 contestant has been chosen to sing a song for Sonakshi Sinha for her upcoming film AKEERA, with music being directed by Vishal and Shekhar.

In a format-breaking move, given the talent was so good and competitive, for the first time in the history of the franchise the judges chose to send 13 contestants to the gala instead of 10 from about 120. Excelling in her singing talent despite tough competition from peers, Anannya Shritam Nanda, the 13 year old girl from Orissa became the winner of Indian Idol Junior-2. Post her win she received an invitation from the prime minister of India, Shree Narendra Modi to meet him.

The show was judged by ace music composers Vishal Dadlani, Salim Merchant and the superstar actress Sonakshi Sinha.

The two hosts were the inimitable Husain Kwazarwala and the newest sensation on television,actress Asha Negi .
